ORGANIZATION TYPE: Education

FOCUS AREA: Education, Housing / Neighborhoods, Immigration, Income & Wealth, Jobs & Work, Law, Public Health, Public Policy, Race / Ethnicity, Social Inclusion

HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVES: I teach a class called "Unequal Bodies: The History of Public Health and Medicine in the U.S." which traces inequalities and inequities in public health and medicine from the 17th century through today. I'm concerned in my research with issues of group stigmatization by race, class and gender; unequal access to healthcare and medical training; and how class inequalities influence health differentials.
