MetroWest Community Health Care Foundation

LOCATION: Framingham, MA, U.S.A.

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Foundation

FOCUS AREA: Health Care Delivery, Public Health

HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVES: In 2005 we commissioned a study by Harvard School of Public Health to look at how racial and ethnic health disparities/inequities impact our suburban region west of Boston. Following the study, we created a multi-pronged Racial & Ethnic Health Disparities Initiative that includes grantmaking, workforce development, cultural sensitivity training, and convening the MetroWest Health Disparities Workgroup. The MetroWest Health Disparities Workgroup uses Unnatural Causes as a vehicle for raising local awareness about health inequities.

ACTIVITIES WITH UNNATURAL CAUSES CAMPAIGN:
- Host a screening event featuring UNNATURAL CAUSES
- Post and share information about the series with members and constituents
